President Trump Wants 'Definitive Proof' That Iran Was Behind Saudi Attacks

Zero Hedge: De-escalation: Trump Doesn't Want "War With Anyone", Wants "Definitive Proof" Iran Behind Attacks

With the war drums beating loudly ever since Mike Pompeo accused Iran of launching the drone strike that crippled Aramco oil production, moments ago the odds of an imminent war with Iran de-escalated materially after President Trump said it was "looking like Iran was behind this weekend’s attacks" on Saudi oil facilities, but added that "he doesn’t want to go war with anyone."

"It’s certainly looking that way at this moment," Trump says in response to a question whether Iran was responsible for the attacks.

"I don’t want to have war with anybody” but our military is prepared, Trump says at the White House, where he was meeting with Bahrain Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Furthermore, the president said the US is not looking at retaliatory options until he has "definitive proof" that Iran was responsible for attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities.

Still, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that the US "is prepared" if the attacks warrant a response.

WNU Editor: I suspect that President Trump already knows who was behind these attacks. The issue that he is facing is on what to do next.

  1. Exactly.
    Who benefits from war?

    Russia. China.

China needs the diversion, so the world doesn't witness it's massive failure from diplomacy to economics to cultural understandings. They need us to keep believing they "are the oldest civilization" and "have a long term plan". Just BS. Go to China, live there - it's madness, terrible for both environment, freedom and the human soul. But don't tell anyone, their strategy is to count on the uneducated CNN watchers who have a liberal arts degree and think everyone just wants to get along and believes in their SJW "freedoms". OMG full face palm.

And then Russia of course benefits, by selling their oil and S400s jokingly. Not that S400s would have helped with that drone strike, which may be the first swarm strike on an industrial target, but whatever. Putin will just gloat, to be in the spotlight. Who loses? Russians, because the cold war keeps on inching back.

This has stupid written all over it, so I fully expect CNN to have "ANALysis" all day, likely by Don Lemon, he is an ANALysis expert. Or Richard Quest, also really good in the ANALysis (and Meth!) departments. But yeah, just keep watching :)

  2. The Americans will know which state actor did this, weapons used & launch sites. The rebels may be able to strike a large target such as an airport with updated V2s but these look to be multiple precision strikes.

    Democrats benefit from war.

They got you coming and they got you going.

They are for war until they are against it.

    Democrats are never all in.

For example during WW2 they were not all in.

  4. I would say that Iran had tacit approval from Russia for the strike.
I doubt an attack staged from Iran would be launched, without any Russian knowledge prior.

  5. Yes Anon, Americans, sorry that is Democrats gain from war.

Well actually the only ones gaining from the many instigated wars in the world are people in the WIC, whereas Trump, a non secular relative to party affiliation if the truth were known, wants people to stay at his facilities and war does not help in that endeavor.

  8. There will be retaliation, the question is how? One way is the US and Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies pressure China and Russia to threaten the Mullahs or isolate them further or cut off economic and military aid. Iran's actions threaten China's economy and growing economic relations with the Sunni world. Russia too suffers as its goals to sell military equipment will suffer. Harsher sanctions supported by Russia and China would be blow back Iran can't afford and not risk a major war.

Proof: "In the year after V-J Day, more than five million American workers were involved in strikes, which lasted on average four times longer than those during the war."

  12. Iran is trying to bait Trump into attacking them before the election as they understand it will ruin his re-election hopes. Its a difficult line to walk for Iran. They are escalating by conducting peripheral harassment strikes. EG: shooting down a drone, hijacking non-US ships, bombing Saudi Arabia. Any retaliation by the US for these hits would be a "War of Choice" for the US.

Also watch for the Democrats to suddenly turn very hawkish toward Iran - for the same reasons.

However if Iran outright bombed a US base and killed hundreds of US personnel, Trump would be totally justified in all out retaliation against Iran. Plus such a hit would elevate Trump's approval rating, virtually guaranteeing his re-election.

  15. "US Treasury Sec. Steven Mnuchin listed as contact for Epstein friend's firm - Business Insider"

People have been placing bets as to whether Parrot reads past past the lede or article title.

Smart money says parrot never reads past the title. Something about diminished capacity or bad eyesight from too many virus infected websites. You've heard about those sites.

"The Beast said Mnuchin was listed on the official documents as a "state point of contact" for Brunel's Next Management Corporation, a company he formed in 1988 with his brother.

A state point of contact is responsible for liaising between a company and the New York Department of State, filing legal documents and receiving lawsuits and other legal information on a company's behalf."

This latest allegation is as bad or nearly so as the fake hit piece the New York Times ran against Kavanaugh yesterday.

Parrots are so gullible & stupid.

  16. God Free zones are a large problem.

IMO controls on an individual are a mix of internal and external.

You have to have both. You are never going to have 100% success with either. You could have 100% of your effort in external controls and you will never get to Heaven. You will not prevent people from causing mayhem and hurting others.

People can commit mass murder using tall buildings? You going to lock up tall buildings? Can you?

It is not like liberals can outlaw tall buildings given their other nefarious activities.

  17. President Trump is not a warmonger.
He knows not to fall into the trap of attacking any nation without 100% intel.

Why should America strike a nation because Saudi Arabian oil was attacked? Who defends the oil? They dropped the ball. Let them find it and throw it back.

Saudi Arabian needs to step up and take charge.
Oh! That's right they buy all the hardware and train people to use it so another nation can fight its wars for them. Let them go hire some mercs from china.

    We are not that nation.
Not while President Trump is in charge.
