Ever since things started to go badly wrong in Syria after the uprising prompted by the 2011 Arab Spring, the customary fog of war has morphed into an impenetrable black box.

None of the intervening political actors - Turkey, the US, Iran, Russia, Israel, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia - calculated correctly, nor did the various non-state extremist groups associated with al-Qaeda and later the Islamic State (IS), and a variety of anti-Damascus Syrian insurgencies.

  2. Trump knew beforehand about the Republican plan to barge in on Laura Cooper’s testimony. This entire charade needs to be investigated. Trump and the House GOP are clearly conspiring to intimidate witnesses, obstruct Congressional investigations. This is all criminal.

    Many are confused as to what's happening, so I'll clarify: BIPARTISAN hearings are being held with members of multiple House committees. Scalise is alleging Schiff is "hiding" something not because the GOP isn't in the room, but because the "right" Republicans aren't in the room.
