Two-Mile Homeless Camp Takes Over In California’s Posh Marin County

Daily Mail: EXCLUSIVE: Shocking images show the TWO-MILE long vehicle encampment - made up of people living in RVs, trucks and trailers - along Highway 101 north of San Francisco as low income people are pushed out of the housing market

* The average household income in the county is $131,000, with 78 percent of homeless locals living in the area before being forced to the encampment

* Pictured taken by DailyMail.com show families living in tents and using portable barbeques as their belongings spill out of the RV's

* The state has been handed more than $3million to try to help those living in the vehicles find homes

Hundreds of locals in one of San Francisco's wealthiest counties have been forced to pack up their lives into RVs and trailers after being pushed out of the housing market.

Shocking photos show the ever-growing line of trucks and other vehicles along 101 Highway – which now stretches over two miles in one of the largest encampments in the country.

Cities in Marin County, where on average homes cost $1.4million, are pushing for the line along the highway to end after the number of residents living in their cars ballooned during the pandemic.

Is California Now A Third-World Country?

California Governor Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti

Breitbart: California Is Now a Third-World Country The mayor of Los Angeles told residents to unplug their appliances, shut off their air conditioners, and turn on a fan after 3 p.m. Look at this…
And they call those of us in flyover country backwards… All I know is that out here in the sticks, out here in hick country, out here in the hinterlands, my 3,200 square foot home (if you count my finished basement) is as comfortable, cool, and dry as a shopping mall. A 72 perfect degrees, and it has been at least five years since the power’s gone out, and even then it wasn’t longer than an hour. Who’s the bumpkin now? There is no better sign you live in a third world country than rationed electricity.

WNU Editor: California is not a third-world country. But its inability to deliver stable electricity and water to its citizens is maddening. It is also nothing new. I have been visiting California since the 1990s, and blackouts were happening even then. But the situation has worsen this year, and as the picture taken today of San Francisco below illustrates, you have to wonder if God has given up on California, and the Devil himself has moved in.

California's Wine Country Is On Fire

SFGate: 10 dead as Wine Country fires burn at least 1,500 structures, force evacuations

A swarm of fires supercharged by powerful winds ripped through Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino counties Monday, killing at least 10 people, injuring dozens of others, destroying more than 1,500 homes and businesses, and turning prominent wineries to ash.

Starting in the middle of the night, the fires hopscotched across neighborhoods, raced across fields and jumped freeways. Wind gusts up to 70 mph pushed walls of flames nearly 100 feet high, throwing embers ahead like hot fingers into strip malls and subdivisions. Many people who fled the surge had enough time to grab car keys, perhaps a pet, but not much more.

WNU Editor: A few weeks after 9/11 I went to visit my brother in California (he lives in San Mateo). He took me on a tour of wine country in Napa and Sonoma, and I fell in love with the region right away. When I came back home to Montreal I could not get Napa out of mind .... so 3 months later I was back in California and I started to look for homes in Napa. A place to call home during winter. Found an incredible property off Silverado Trail that also had a few acres of grapes. I liked the price and terms .... went back to Montreal to arrange the money but on my way back I learned my father had a stroke. It changed everything .... and I stayed in Montreal. But Napa and Sonoma have always been on my mind, traveling there many times over the years, even convincing the GF a few weeks ago that our next trip will be to NAPA. Tonight .... everything that I love about Napa and Sonoma is on fire. Sighhhh. My prayers are for those who are suffering tonight.
