IRAQ'S parliament has been in high gear this week as it prepares to debate the new security agreement negotiated between the Bush administration and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government.
The Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) provides for the final departure of US forces from Iraq in 2011. Opposition to it began crumbling earlier this week when Grand Ayatollah Al-Muhammad Sistani, the nation's most prestigious Shiite cleric, gave his blessing to the Cabinet-approved draft.
