Kabul Embassy Secure Despite Guard Force Problem-US

Private security guards at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul had to participate in naked pool parties and perform sex acts to gain promotions or assignment to preferable shifts, according to one of 12 guards who have gone public with their complaints. (Project on Government Oversight)

WASHINGTON, Sept 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department said on Wednesday its embassy in Afghanistan was well-protected despite staffing shortages by a private security contractor and guards who engaged in drunken, lewd behavior off duty.

Spokesman Ian Kelly said the department had begun three investigations into the matter and he said one possible outcome could be terminating the contract with the security contractor, ArmorGroup, North America.

My Comment: You do not have to go to Kabul to witness bizarre behavior. You can find that in most American cities. The key questions that need to be asked are .... was this behavior occurring on duty. Were participants forced to act like this. Were laws broken. Was security compromised.

An affirmative to any of these questions should result in firings and punishment.
