Geoff and Mike Howe are 34-year-old twins from Maine. Tinkerers since a young age and chemical and biological engineers by training, in 2005 they built, on a lark, a 4.5-ton tank-like robot that was the only tracked entrant in the Pentagon’s Grand Challenge bot race. Four years later, the Howes are now full-time robot designers with Army sponsorship.
