Is Fight Against Hunger A Matter Of Security?

Hunger and food insecurity can destabilize whole regions. That dimension is raising new interest in tackling the issue, says Kanayo Nwanze, the new head of the UN's International Fund for Agricultural Development.
Washington - Which is more likely to grab and hold attention: third-world hunger or global food security?
Kanayo Nwanze bets the answer is the latter. The Kenyan who recently became president of the United Nations' International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) says globalization has made the hunger and rural poverty that always pulled on the heartstrings an international security issue.

My Comment: The fight against hunger is also a matter of politics. Governments have always used food as a tool to implement policies, institute controls, and insure that their power continues. Much of the world's hunger has nothing to do with climate .... and more with politics and the wars and conflicts that they produced. Will this change .... I doubt it. Food and security (or lack of) has been a part of the human condition for as long as man has been around and I expect this to continue.
