Military Leader Of Guinea Shot In Attempted Coup -- Times Online

The West African state of Guinea faced fresh turmoil yesterday after the leader of the hardline junta that seized power a year ago was shot and injured by renegade presidential guards in the capital.

Communication Minister Idrissa Cherif said that President Moussa Dadis Camara was doing well. The attack came after weeks of persistent rumours of a power struggle within the military.
