Pentagon Budget Calls For More Unmanned Aircraft -- L.A. Times

The Defense strategy is to focus more on international hot spots and natural disasters, as well as major wars. The Pentagon is one of the few U.S. agencies to get a budget increase this year.

Reporting from Washington - U.S. Defense officials outlined plans to double production of unmanned aircraft, part of an expanded 2011 budget unveiled Monday that emphasizes the importance of international hot spots and natural disasters as well as large-scale warfare, as provided under a new strategy document.

My Comment: With a proven track record in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and favorable reviews from the troops on the ground who feel secure when these drones are flying over their heads .... the Generals and military planners are listening.
