State Department Lifts Ban On Exports Of Night-Vision Goggles -- Washington Times

Two senators write letter of warning to security adviser.

The State Department has lifted a ban on exports of night-vision equipment that was imposed in 2007 on a U.S. company caught selling sensitive defense articles to China and other countries without a license.

Meanwhile, two key U.S. senators on Tuesday wrote to Gen. James L. Jones, the White House national security adviser, warning that the Obama administration's plan to loosen controls on exports of sensitive goods and technology could undermine national security.

My Comment: It's all about jobs, jobs, and more jobs. National Security .... nahhhh .... not important.

Comon now, night vision goggles are as high-tech as a box of Lego.. seriously, it's not as if they'd have agreed on selling stealth bombers to China :) The biggest threat to the US is not --unlikely-- enemies equipped with night vision goggles, but millions of people without jobs -- if you don't have jobs, you can't afford the big (or smart) toys, that actually matter :)
