House Votes to Repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' As Vote Nears In Senate -- ABC News

House's 234-194 Vote Follows 16-12 Senate Armed Services Committee Vote to Repeal Law After Pentagon Review.

The House of Representatives has voted by a 234-194 margin to repeal the controversial "don't ask, don't tell" policy toward gays in the military.

"I know that our military draws its strength on the integrity of our unified force, and current law challenges this integrity by creating two realities within the ranks," said Rep. Susan Davis, D-Calif ., of the 1993 policy that President Obama and other Democrats favor changing.
