Fresh details - including reports on Osama Bin Laden as recently as 2006 - have emerged from US military records published on Wikileaks website, as the Pentagon tries to identify the culprit.
Several files track Bin Laden, although the US has said it had received no reliable information on him "in years".
Defence officials are investigating who was behind the leaking of more than 90,000 classified documents.
The White House has warned that the leak could harm national security.
