Female Bomber Kills Dozens in Pakistan, Official Says -- New York Times
PESHAWAR, Pakistan — A suicide bomber believed to be a woman killed 42 people and wounded 80 others in the northwestern Bajaur tribal region on Saturday, an area official said.
The official, who requested that he not be identified because he was not authorized to speak to reporters, said that a woman wearing a burqa was stopped at a security post in the tribal region boardering Afghanistan.
“She threw a hand grenade, and before the security force could respond, she detonated herself,” the official said.
