Hillary Clinton Says US In Direct Competition With China -- The Telegraph

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the U.S. is in direct competition with China and risks losing influence as the communist country "wines and dines" leaders in the resource-rich Pacific.

Mrs Clinton made the unusually strong comments before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations as she bemoaned cuts to the U.S. aid program sought by the Republican lawmakers.

She told Wednesday's hearing: "We are in a competition for influence with China."
