Navy To Name Next Aircraft Carrier After John F. Kennedy

On what would have been John F Kennedy's 94th birthday, the U.S. Navy has announced it will name a second aircraft carrier after him.

Members of the Kennedy family - including Caroline Kennedy, who as a 10-year-old christened the first USS John F Kennedy in 1967 - were present today as Navy Secretary Ray Mabus made the announcement at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

The celebration included remarks by Mrs Kennedy and others, and a video presentation of a 1963 speech by President Kennedy to the Naval Academy.
