French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told US President Barack Obama that he could not "stand" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he thinks the Israeli premier "is a liar."
According to a Monday report in the French website "Arret sur Images," after facing reporters for a G20 press conference on Thursday, the two presidents retired to a private room, to further discuss the matters of the day.

My Comment: What is also remarkable about this story ... is that the press at the event decided not to report and broadcast it because of confidentiality agreements. Yup .... an important story spiked because they agreed to the terms and conditions that they had to operate while covering the G20 meeting.
The French weren't allies (in any sense of the word) to the Israelis for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThey embargoed Israel in regard to arms sales after '67 and began to sell arms to Arabian states at some distance to Libya instead (Iraqi and Libyan Mirage F.1, for example).
The U.S. is no real ally either, its a cash cow and big bully brother to the Israelis.
