Another "Soldier's Dog" Finding A Home Story

Family Of Para Killed In Helmand Adopt His Afghan Dog -- The Telegraph

The family of a paratrooper who was killed in Afghanistan have taken in the stray dog he adopted on the battlefield.

Pvt Conrad Lewis, 22, adopted the dog and named the bitch Peg after Pegasus, the flying horse symbol of the regiment.

Peg was said to have accompanied the soldier wherever he went and even stayed by his side during gun battles with the Taliban.

He planned to bring her home and had told his family about his intentions while on leave to their home in Claverdon, Warwickshire, last Christmas.

My Comment: A boy and his dog .... or in this case .... a soldier and his dog. They are a man's best friend for a reason .... being able to still give unconditional love .... even in a war zone.
