Syria Unrest: Arab League Calls For End To Shooting -- BBC
Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi has called for an end to shootings in Syria, warning that snipers remain a threat to civilians.
He said the issue would be raised with the Syrian government.
The UN says more than 5,000 people have been killed in a crackdown on anti-government protests since March.
Some 60 Arab League monitors are checking compliance with a peace plan, but correspondents say protesters are frustrated they cannot stop killings.
