South Korea Believes Better Relations Are Possible With North Korea

Lee Sees Opportunity for Better North, South Relations -- Wall Street Journal

SEOUL—South Korean President Lee Myung-bak said Monday there is still a "window of opportunity" for better relations with North Korea, despite the harsh rhetoric Pyongyang directed at him and the South over the weekend.

Mr. Lee spoke of North Korea's new leadership for the first time in his New Year's speech, saying the death of Kim Jong Il "portends a sea change" in the security and politics of northeast Asia. But so far, neither Mr. Lee nor the leaders of North Korea have taken a step to meet that potential.

My Comment: South Korean President Lee is wayyyy too optimistic on changes coming from the North ..... after all .... the North just called him a traitor.
