Pakistan Will Use Any Leverage With Haqqani For 'Afghan-Led' Peace -- The Telegraph

Pakistan is ready to use whatever leverage it has with the Haqqani network and the Taliban to help push for peace in Afghanistan, according to the country's foreign minister.

Islamabad's intentions have long been viewed with suspicion in its war-wracked neighbour but Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday told The Daily Telegraph her government was ready to do anything needed – including nudging two of the most deadly insurgent groups towards talks.

"I can't say what influence we have with either, but what I'm saying is that we are willing to do whatever the Afghans expect or want us to do," she said, in an interview with a small group of reporters after returning from a day of talks in Kabul.

My Comment: It should be easy for Pakistan to do so .... especially since some of the Taliban leadership have made it a point to live right next door to Pakistan's intelligence head-quarters.
