If North Korea goes through with its planned missile test, Japan's could respond with its missile-defense systems. Here is the hardware and strategy behind the looming Pacific confrontation.

In the Pacific, saber rattling is done with missiles.

North Korea has announced that it will launch a Taepodong ballistic missile to celebrate the birthday of North Korea's founder, Kim Il Sung, on April 15. The country claims this will be a satellite launch, but most observers agree the test is meant to demonstrate a weapon delivery system. Either way, it violates a fresh agreement that North Korea signed just one month ago pledging not to test long-range missiles.

My Comment: Japan will respond aggressively if North Korea should decide to go ahead with their missile test .... especially if this North Korean missile should fly over Japanese territory. My prediction on what will be Japan's response .... Japan will respond with a massive commitment and deployment of a missile defense system, and an arms buildup that will be for Japan the biggest since the Second World War.
