The blind 'barefoot' Chinese activist at the centre of a diplomatic tussle between Washington and Beijing left the U.S. Embassy today to receive medical care and be reunited with this family.

Chen Guangcheng's departure from the embassy came shortly after U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Beijing for two days of annual strategic talks.

It is not yet clear whether self-taught lawyer Chen, whose situation is threatening to overshadow the talks, will remain in China with his family after receiving medical care.

My Comment: I do not know if Chen Guangcheng will still be safe from Chinese authorities, but I know that this person is happy that this case has been resolved (for now).
