Veterans Give Romney Big Lead Over Obama -- Gallop
Veterans responsible for Romney's advantage among men overall.
PRINCETON, NJ -- U.S. veterans, about 13% of the adult population and consisting mostly of older men, support Mitt Romney over Barack Obama for president by 58% to 34%, while nonveterans give Obama a four-percentage-point edge.
These data, from an analysis of Gallup Daily tracking interviews conducted April 11-May 24, show that 24% of all adult men are veterans, compared with 2% of adult women.

My Comment: This is a shocker. I expected President Obama to do better than 34% among male veterans.
I'm shocked but the other direction. I strongly suspect they tilted this survey to give the President as strong a showing as possible.
ReplyDeleteI know of exactly ONE person in ANY unit who has anything favorable at all to say about the President.
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say his support in the military is closer to about 15% and most of that due to folks who want to vote for him solely due to race.

Thank you Orion for your comment. You are probably right. My friends in the US military are telling me the same thing .... but the rebel in me (i.e. the Russian in me) likes to take the opposite point of view.
