The 'Troubles' Return To Northern Ireland



More Violence At Carlisle Circus, North Belfast -- BBC

Police have fired six baton rounds during further trouble in the Carlisle Circus area of north Belfast, where 47 police officers were injured during disturbances on Sunday.


Nine officers have been injured on Monday night, with three hospitalised.

Loyalists gathered in Denmark Street and nationalists on the Antrim Road. Petrol bombs, bricks, stones and fireworks have been thrown at police.

A van has also been hijacked and pushed into police lines.

Four water cannon have been deployed by police and at least one man has been arrested.
