President Obama: I Am 'Ultimately' Responsible For Benghazi Security

Obama Says He Is 'Ultimately' Responsible For Benghazi Security -- The Hill

President Obama on Saturday vowed to hold his administration “accountable” for September’s attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, saying he took ultimate responsibility for any security lapses.

“What my attitude on this is is if we find out there was a big breakdown and somebody didn’t do their job, they’ll be held accountable,” said Obama in an interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, according to a report on that network’s website.

“Ultimately as Commander-in-Chief I am responsible and I don’t shy away from that responsibility," Obama added.

Update: Benghazi terrorist attack follows Obama on the campaign trail -- Christian Science Monitor

My Comment: Belatedly .... the President and his staff are now realizing the full magnitude of how lousy they have been in handling the debacle at Benghazi that claimed 4 American lives .... including a U.S. Ambassador.  Case in point .... the above video from last week illustrates how horrible their messaging has been .... it is just not believable for President Obama to go on TV and state that he still is waiting for the results from the investigation to be completed. Sighhhh .... the event happened 7 weeks ago .... he is the President of the United States and he of all people should by now have a good idea on what exactly happened.

Jennifer Rubin is right .... President Obama needs to come clean on Benghazi. But his interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough is 3 to 4 weeks late .... and I predict that he will not answer any specific questions. In short .... he and his staff are hopeful that by admitting that he is 'ultimately' responsible for Benghazi security .... this issue will die when Hurricane Sandy takes over the news cycle tomorrow. As to what's my prediction .... this issue is going to haunt him up to election day .... and beyond.
