Egyptian President Now Rambling about “Planet Of The Apes” In Foreign-Policy Interviews -- Hot Air
On the one hand, he’s nuts. On the other hand, using a tortured pop-culture metaphor for geopolitics suggests he’d make a fine blogger. My Comment: When I was reading the Time's transcript of their interview with Egyptian President Mursi .... I was scratching my head and wondering if the translation got screwed up (apparently not). Sighhh .... if this is the type of man who is leading Egypt, Egypt is in trouble .... and if Egypt is in trouble, so is everyone else.

Just read the entire transcript, and I don't really see the big deal in regards to the Planet of the Apes reference, it was a strange one, but I think it was his way of trying to express what he was saying, rather badly, in bad english.
ReplyDeleteActually, everything he said up to the point of the question about his degree made logical sense if you could understand the somewhat broken english getting translated.
Everything after that, however, shows he's dillusional if he thinks 80-90% of people are in favour of his new power grab.
He is essentially doing the opposite of what he is saying.
