Pope Francis Visits The Holy Land

Pope Prays At Israel's West Bank Separation Barrier -- BBC

Pope Francis has prayed at the concrete barrier Israel is building in and around the West Bank during his three-day tour of the Middle East.

The unscheduled stop came after he called for an end to the "increasingly unacceptable" Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Speaking in Bethlehem, the Pope invited the Israeli and Palestinian presidents to the Vatican to pray for peace.

The tour's official purpose is to improve ties with the Orthodox Church.

The Pope is to meet Bartholomew I, the Orthodox Patriarch of Constantinople, in Jerusalem later - to commemorate the 50th anniversary of a historic meeting of Catholic and Orthodox leaders who moved to end 900 years of division between the two churches.

  1. If it wasn't bad enough that the backdrop mural of the Manger scene at the speech in Bethlehem had baby Jesus wrapped in a Palestinian black & white Keffiyeh, which is the national symbol of 'Resistance' ie.. Terrorism, it seems the anti-Israel graffiti at the separation fence was a complete setup...

Bethlehem these days is not a happy place, not because of a separation fence that actually does save Jewish lives but because of Islamic fundamentalism, plain and simple.

The truth is there is an exodus of Christians from all of the Middle East as they are a persecuted minority under Islam. Only in Israel is their number increasing.
