Iranian Commander Says Collapse Of US Empire Is Near -- Jerusalem Post
The deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Brig.-Gen. Hossein Salami said that the US’s status in the world has deteriorated and that its collapse is near.
“Today nowhere in the Muslim world” does anyone pull out “a red carpet for American officials and that’s why [US President Barack] Obama secretly” showed up at Bagram military base in Afghanistan without first letting President Hamid Karzai know, said Salami according to a report by Iran’s Fars news agency.
“And this shows that the US empire is coming to an end,” he said.

My Comment: This is not only a continuation of Iran's "hardline" approach with the West .... but also indicative of internal Iranian politics as hardliners are trying to act as a counterweight to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's overtures to the West.

ReplyDeleteAnyone who's read my comments knows I'm not a fan of the US Administration and it is a fact that the US military is in a real measurable decline, but I tell you what ole Brig.-Gen. Hossein Salami, you just keep talking pal. Just one thing, there's nothing more embarrassing than to have you're clock cleaned by a "declining empire".
