Did Russia Send Tanks To Pro-Russian Separatists In Ukraine?

NATO Says Satellite Photos Support Claim That Russian Tanks Entered Ukraine -- Mashable

KIEV, Ukraine — NATO released new satellite images on Sunday to support claims by the Ukraine and U.S. governments that Russia had allowed tanks to cross the border into the eastern part of this country.

Moscow has vigorously denied the charges, but if true, it would mark a significant escalation of the already bloody conflict in the east, now in its second month.

In the satellite images, according to a NATO statement, tanks can be seen leaving Rostov-na-Donu, a region in southwestern Russia, before appearing in Ukraine.

Three tanks and other military vehicles carrying fighters and weapons were observed on Thursday rolling west through the eastern Ukrainian cities of Snizhne, Torez and Makiivka in the direction of Donetsk, the epicenter of the separatist movement that has engulfed the region.

My Comment: NATO Identifies these tanks as T-64s .... but the problem is that Russia does not have these tanks anymore. There are T-64s in the Ukraine military .... so one has to then wonder if this is a false flag by Ukraine or these are tanks that have been pilfered by the rebels from Ukrainian armories. There are just too many questions for any conclusive statement to be made on who these tanks belong to .... and it would not surprise me if we will ever really know.

Perhaps the pro-russians are fixing the tanks in Ukraines tank depot if Russia sent them tools to repair them.

Does the pro russians still have control on the weapon cache with ca 3.5 million weapons? In the guardian when Slavyansk got attacked the cache was guarded by Russian friendly cossaks.

  2. It is possible that Russia is supplying parts. It is also possible that Russia may have some old T-64s in storage and have decided to give them to the pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine. But unless we have non-partial observers on the ground .... we will never know the origin of these tanks.

As to a weapons cache of 3.5 million weapons .... I have heard stories about that .... but nothing really definitive. But I do know that at this moment in time almost everyone in this region has a Kalashnikov and many rounds of ammo. Everyone has armed up .... and preparing for the worse.

  3. With marsial law imposed in Donetsk and Lughansk this wil be a bloodbath. Kieav are moving many troops to Lugansk are they planning storm the city? Russia are moving more troops near Ukraines bordercare they preparing to invade?

  4. Kiev has not officially declared martial law .... but the Luhansk and Donetsk regions are now essentially war zones. Ukraine is sending in soldiers, but not in great numbers .... they are limited by transport and having supplies. What makes the situation dangerous are the Ukrainian militias from the Western part of the country being sent into Donetsk and Luhansk. Everyone is telling me the same thing .... these are thugs and criminals who have been given licensed by Kiev to do what they want .... as a result .... they are now inflaming tensions throughout this part of the country.

Russian military deployments on the Ukraine border are not significant enough to warrant fears of a Russian incursion.
