Dramatic Taliban Video Shows Dazed Bergdahl In Handover -- Reuters
(Reuters) - A dazed Bowe Bergdahl is led by two militants, one carrying a makeshift white flag on a stick, to a Blackhawk helicopter in eastern Afghanistan ending his five years' in captivity, a video released by the Taliban showed on Wednesday.
In the first publicly aired footage of Bergdahl's dramatic handover to the U.S. military at the weekend, the clip shows Taliban cadres dotted on nearby hills armed with rocket launchers watching the transfer.
The operation, from the moment the helicopter touched the ground amid a cloud of dust to take-off, was all over in a minute.

My Comment: The Taliban are going to "milk" this swap for all that it is worth. Expect more videos to be released in the days to come.
Couldn't stop giggling to myself when Chuck Hagel said - responding to critics that Bergdahl may be facing a court martial over abandoning his post - "We don't do that in the United States. We rely on facts," in context that it was too early to presume anything.
ReplyDeleteLets get that quote again - "We don't do that in the United States. We rely on facts."
And again because why not? - "We don't do that in the United States. We rely on facts."
Irag War? Benghazi?
Again for the hell of it - "We don't do that in the United States. We rely on facts."
And just to milk the extra laugh out of it, - "We don't do that in the United States. We rely on facts."
....
Chuck Hagel .... after he was nominated and approved by the US Senate (by both sides) for the job of US Secretary of Defense .... I said that aside from fulfilling President Obama's desire to dismantle and shrink the military .... where all he has done is slash and burn the budget without planing or analysis .... he is the worse person to be in the Pentagon. As to the facts .... these guys (and gals) are just making it up as they go along.
ReplyDeletePlowman,
