Farah Mohamed Shirdon, Canadian Jihadist Thought Killed In Iraq, Appears In Vice Video -- CBC
Fighter says in interview he wasn't recruited to join ISIS
A Calgary man who was rumoured to be dead after travelling to fight with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria appears to be alive and has conducted a video interview with media outlet Vice.
Farah Mohamed Shirdon, of Calgary, first came to attention in an ISIS video released earlier this year in which he tears up his passport and makes threats against the enemies of ISIS — naming both Canada and the U.S.
In August, CBC reported that social media postings were saying that Shirdon had been killed in Iraq.
But after seeing reports that Shirdon may in fact still be alive, Vice used social media to track him down and arranged a video interview that Vice says took place on Sept. 23.

My Comment: Stories like this one always make me "burn". I immigrated to Canada over 20 years ago ..... I know firsthand that Canada is an open place for immigrants to come and gain a better life. The parents of Farah Shirdon did exactly that .... escaping the ravages of Somalia for peace and a brighter future in Alberta. Unfortunately .... they should have spent more time with their son in explaining how lucky he was to be here (in Canada) .... rather than over there.
Obama has imported 90,000 Somalis
ReplyDelete100,000 Iraqis, and 100,000 Syrians.
I wonder how many of those Iraqis were Christians, Yazidis are worked with the U.s, forces or were awakening affiliated who were escaping persecution.
I do not think that the refugees were granted entry out of compassion so much as to change the electorate.
I married a Han. They speak perfect English, have 2 masters and are a credit to the U.S. The kids are mixed race and my spouse has a stake on America and their values are not really any different than the average working Americans.
These newcomers I am not so sure.
Point is I do not dislike these 'refugees' because they are different, look different, speak different etc. I just don't think they will blend or give a ____ about people who were already here. In fact I think more of them percentage-wise will despise America than like it.
More of them will need welfare than not. This will make them dependable Democrat voters and that was the whole point.
