ITAR-TASS: Ukrainians grow unwilling to serve in the army — media
WNU Editor: The above report is from Russia .... and even though Russian media coverage is biased against the Ukraine government .... this report is very accurate. Even among my own family in Ukraine .... all of the sons of my cousins who are of military age left the country last summer .... they all expected the fighting to intensify and they also all expected the introduction of conscription by the Ukraine government ... and they have been proven right.
In the coming weeks and months I expect draft dodging to escalate as the fighting escalates .... support for the Ukraine government in its war against pro-Russian rebels in the east does not have the overwhelming support that many in the Ukraine government are trying to paint ... and if given the choice of fighting in a war or leaving the country .... many are making the choice of leaving.
This report and recent events speak to my original assertion that the Kievian military forces were incapable of winning this war. I felt at best they might be able to not lose the war, but now that is in grave doubt. I repeat, I am no fan of Putin's, but his assertion that the hand of the West (US Administration) is largely behind this is correct.
ReplyDeleteWNU Editor,
ReplyDeleteAnother fun one for you,

Thank you for the link Jay. Who killed who during the Maiden protests is something that needs to be thoroughly investigated. But as I have said more than once before .... people who were there tell me that there was a third group shooting at both the police and demonstrators. Who those people were is still unknown .... but my gut has always told me it was either a splinter group from Right Sector, or foreign nationals who wanted to cause chaos.
ReplyDeleteCreation of a "Blood Debt" has been a feature of Colour Revolutions, since 2002, as noted in the doc. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,
ReplyDeleteWhat I found more interesting about the post, is the inference that Berkuit is being " reformed" and absolved politically, to function as a protector of the current Government, against the radicals of the Maiden.
The debate on what to do with these special police units has been ongoing since the Maiden revolution. I personally always figured that they would find an excuse or reason to try to keep them around .... they are just a tool for the government to use.
ReplyDeleteBut they had to purge the old guard and pro-Russian commanders. As I ahve said in previous posts .... Poroshenko's government did not start the purges .... but he has definitely not stopped it. Police forces, the military, government employees .... Russians and pro-Russian sympathizers are being booted out, Ukrainian nationalists are being put in.
The special police units have also undergone this type of change .... with the new priority being to protect the current Kiev government .... especially from the really extreme Ukrainian nationalists (which is hard to believe .... but they do exist). Is this an indication that the Poroshenko government is afraid of internal dissent separate from what is happening in eastern Ukraine .... definitely. As I had mentioned in this post .... support for the Ukraine government is not as rock-solid as many in the West would like to beleive.
