Washington Post: Day before crucial Ukrainian peace summit, heavy fighting in nation’s east

MOSCOW — Fighting expanded in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday, a day ahead of planned peace talks, with both Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian rebels claiming advances as a key Ukrainian-held town far behind the front lines was shelled for the first time in months.
