Iran's Quds Force Major General Soleimani Says The U.S. Has 'No Will' To Fight The Islamic State

Jerusalem Post: Obama has not done a 'damn thing' to confront ISIS, Iranian commander says

Major General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the elite Quds Force says only Iran is confronting Islamic State.

DUBAI - The general in charge of Iran's paramilitary activities in the Middle East said the United States and other powers were failing to confront Islamic State, and only Iran was committed to the task, a news agency on Monday reported.

Major General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the elite Quds Force responsible for protecting the Islamic Republic's interests abroad, has become a familiar face on the battlefields of Iraq, where he often outranks local commanders.

"Today, in the fight against this dangerous phenomenon, nobody is present except Iran," the Tasnim news agency quoted Soleimani as saying on Sunday in reference to Islamic State.

  1. Somebodies acting a little edgy. I guess no more pictures of taking tea "at the front". Unless things turn around quickly in Syria/Iraq we'll probably see a shake up in Al Quds fairly soon.

  2. I agree James. The fall of Ramadi has shaken a lot of people in both Baghdad and Tehran. but the battle for the Bajii oil complex is also going bad.

  3. You know WNU, there has been a lot of talk lately about how Bajii is strategically more important than Ramadi. Perhaps it is to us, but is it to ISIS? Of course if Bajii falls firmly into ISIS's control it would make such musings academic. I have more, but we happen to have a couple of pesky tornados close by and I'm somewhat busy at the moment.
