Dean Obeidallah, Daily Beast: It's Time to Send in the Troops to Kick ISIS’s Ass
I don’t want to sound like a neocon, and troops aren’t the only answer. But enough’s enough. People need help that only we can provide.
ISIS is truly winning. It’s that simple. And unless we change our approach, they will continue to take more land, grow in recruits, and slaughter more people, especially Muslims, on a daily basis.
That’s not just my sentiment, but also the view of Laith Alkhouri, a NBC News counterterrorism expert and director of research and analysis for the Middle East at Flashpoint. As Alkhouri noted on my SiriusXM radio show, this past Saturday, if you think ISIS is just a run-of-the-mill terrorist group that can be lumped in with Al Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, etc., then you have no idea what’s going on.
“ISIS is not a terrorist group, it’s a terrorist army that is building a nation,” Alkhouri explained, adding, “They have intelligent units, surveillance drones, a secret service, and they even provide social services.”
WNU Editor: If it was that simple .... sighhhh .... but it is not.

Maybe they have had enough of being bombed to nothing because of a bunch of lies that led to the invasion ..
From what i understand, that the head commanders of ISIS are Saddam's top generals and most of the soldiers are their soldiers .. the same ones that top US generals said should be kept intact after the surrender in order to police the populace and prevent the looting that we all saw and keep the religious factions from splintering and turning it into the quagmire we see today.. or .. send 350,000 to 375,000 US troops in order to stabilize the country.. but .. rumsfeld/cheney and bush knew so much better .. so they sent 75,000 combat troops, otherwise the american people might wake up to the reality and implications of such a large invasion force which was supposed to "pay for itself" ..
"People need help that only we can provide." Save the money and use it to fight ISIS at home. At the rate they are going they should be in the US in say 2 years, maybe 3. Okay 4 years but that's tops.
ReplyDeleteIt's weird, when I read this headline all I could picture was Rambo, John Matrix and the pilot from Iron Eagle going into 'kick some ISIS ass'.
