Syrian Rebels Launch Massive Offensive To Seize Aleppo

Syrian government forces launched heavy air strikes on rebel positions in and around the northern city of Aleppo today.

The operation was aimed at repelling a major Islamist-led offensive on areas controlled by President Bashar al-Assad.

Pictures released today show government soldiers standing triumphantly over the corpses of dead insurgents in gruesome scenes from Aleppo.
