    These pictures are being let out on purpose by the Saudis. In the Shia vs Sunni conflict both sides have always been "hard core" and world opinion be damned.

    There were numerous commentors at the end of the article claiming that picture with the bulldozer is not recent, instead showing pictures of how the area has been completely rebuilt.

    Obviously not authoritative, but we'll see.
