Fox Trot Alpha: The US Navy SEALs May Have Selected A New Pistol Of Choice
The U.S. Navy SEALs are known to have a very diverse small-arms locker, one full of the best and most durable firearms available. So when they decide to get behind a certain weapon in a big way, it tends to be bug news. Now, after toting steel-framed Sig Sauer P226s on missions around the globe for three decades, a new pistol will reportedly take its place: the hugely popular Glock 19.
WNU Editor: I am not familiar with the Glock 19 .... but if the US Navy SEALs are endorsing it, it must be impressive.
The wonder is what took them so long? G19 has been around for a couple decades. I shoot a smaller version of the G19, the G26. It's light weight as all Glocks are, it's reliable even if not cleaned as it should be, it's accurate, it has a wide array of magazine capacities, it has a vast after market supply chain to customize every aspect of the gun. What's not to like? Still I doubt it will be the only pistol those guys use as I believe they have many different pistol manufacturers in their tool box at any given time.
