Good Saturday morning and welcome to Weekly Recon. Today, we take a look at some of the top Defense stories of 2015. From the debate surrounding the F-35 to the U.S. Marines choosing the M-4 as their weapon of choice, 2015 was an interesting year.
WNU Editor: Not a bad summary on what they feel are the the top 10 stories of 2015. But I would have added the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan onto this list.
The F-35 made a comeback only in fictional journalism. Yes, Lockheed built 45 more useless faulty F-35 prototypes, but it's been another terrible year for the program considering the plane's poor availability, inadequate performance, lagging development, increasing costs to foreign buyers and the bogus bragging about combat capable planes which aren't. Plus the project's FY2015 contract with Lockheed hasn't been negotiated yet, three months and counting after the fiscal year ended.
