Reuters: Israel says Mideast arms proliferation imperils its military edge
Israel’s neighbors are buying arms on a scale that threatens its regional military superiority, the deputy Israeli air force chief said on Sunday, in remarks that appeared aimed at helping secure more defense aid from a reluctant Washington.

Exactly even if they didnt build another weapin for 19 years no one would rain on them under the u.s umbrella
ReplyDeleteThe US can't even keep up with it's own adversaries in terms of qualitative military power. I'm not sure how it xan help Israel here.
ReplyDeleteIf there were some way we could, we should as Israel is our most reliable ally. I don't see how we can, as we'd be hard pressed to defend America much less supply weapons to Israel.
As for a "US umbrella", Russia, China, or their Iranian ally would easily punch a hole in that anytime they choose. It certainly wouldn't take any 19 years. A better approach for Israel would be to develop more of what they need internally and to forage good working relations even a friendship with Russia. To this end, tbey seem to achieved working relations with the Russians which should help.
