The Telegraph: Cash-strapped Islamic State fighters in Libya forced to sell chickens and eggs in the street

Islamic State fighters in the Libyan city of Sirte are selling chickens and eggs by the roadside to make ends meet, it has been claimed.

The terror group has instructed its footsoldiers to act as street vendors as a Western-backed military campaign puts pressure on their finances.

As a result, fighters more used to swaggering down the streets with AK-47s have taken on the rather humbler role of selling produce from Isil-controlled poultry farms, according to local media.

Even so, they still choose to keep their intimidating black balaclava masks on - perhaps out of embarrassment.

WNU Editor: Here is a rag tag militia forced to sell chickens and eggs to survive .... but they still cannot be defeated by an army backed by the West. As usual .... am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture?

This isn't a "rag tag militia." When ISIS first rose to power, it captured and held territory quickly and more efficiently than the United States ever could have even before it's military was worn down from continuous fruitless operations. This is a VERY tough enemy.

Yes there are at least a couple of things wrong with this picture. 1.)The "west" as a fighting force is WAY overrated, its troops (at least the American ones) have inferior equipment, training and morale is extremely low. 2.)The "west" lacks the kind of cohesion necessary to fight effectively as some type of joint force as each nation has it's own interests and agendas. 3.) As stated previously, this is not some rag tag militia as some try to claim it is. In a nutshell, that is what is "wrong with this picture."

With that said ISIS will eventually be defeated. They've accumulated to many enemies. As such, the math does not seem to work for them.

As for the selling of chickens, certain elements of ISIS may be in peril/ (A good thing!!!) Other elements are probably thriving. As I recall during WWII, there was a time when American military cooks had to hunt for food for the troops. As such, just because certain elements of ISIS may currently be in peril does not necessarily mean the war for them, as a whole, is currently going badly.

B Poster - the US is bound by rules of engagement protocols that other actors (eg Russian and Syrian Army) do not have to abide by.. of it were just a matter of destroying territory and buildings, you'd see them in a different light and find them to be much more effective. Also. .future major wars will find the US very well prepared, and their world wide network of bases and spyposts superior to anything the Chinese (who are behated in pretty much every corner of Asia) or Russia have to show for.
B Poster.. you always claim so much but always ignore the weaknesses of your favourite team.
