WNU Editor: According to NBC News, there were no plans to evacuate the U.S. Embassy during the height of the protests ....

.... A U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity said the American Embassy in Baghdad was not being evacuated, contrary to local reports.

"There is no evacuation for the American staff inside the American embassy," he said.

They may have been no plans, but I am sure that some in the embassy and in the U.S. State Department were thinking about it.
