Sputnik: Victoria 'F*ck the EU' Nuland Leaves Her Post at the US State Department

US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland has resigned from her post. Speaking to Radio Sputnik, Russian political scientist Alexander Konkov said that her departure is highly symbolic, and could presage important changes in the Trump State Department's attitude toward US-sponsored regime change operations.

Nuland had her last day at the State Department on Wednesday; her name was just one among a long list of senior Obama-era diplomats who resigned from their posts this week, many of them 'expressing concerns' about serving in the Trump administration's State Department, according to the New York Times.

WNU Editor: She would have been fired or demoted to some obscure diplomatic post in some backwater country where she could not cause any harm if she had not resigned. I will always remember her as someone who enjoyed boasting on how much money the U.S. had spent to influence Ukrainian politics to drive them out of the "Russian orbit" .... Senior U.S. Diplomat Admits That The U.S. Has Spent $5 Billion To Influence The Ukrainian Government (February 27, 2014) .... money that helped to produce the mess that is Ukraine today. Sighhh .... and they accuse Russia of influencing elections.

  1. I'm happy too. The worst mistake ever made by a major power was to support Ukraine against Russia. This mistake was compounded by placing sanctions on Russia over this. Hopefully this a positive first step in undoing the damage caused by this.

Next steps, confirm Rex Tillerson as Secretary of state, lift the sanctions, and go through with the 500 billion dollar oil deal agreed to between Russia and Exxon Mobil. This deal would be great fro both countries and is being held up because some petty, evil, small minded idiots thought it would be a swell idea to insert the United States into the Ukraine/Russia conflict.

  2. Russia is a regional menace that is punching above it weight class. Russia had total control over Ukraine's president which allowed him to rip the country off. Sound familiar? It also kept it weak so they could not resist. Once the people stood up when they saw the promise of a better life with Europe. The Russians, under its puppet president cracked down when the people rose to oppose the shift back to Russian influence. Russia is a country of 140 million people with an economy the size of the much smaller country of Australia, difference being it's economy is in a death spiral. The Ukraine mess is a cake baked for a very long time in a Russian oven. The fact they invaded Crimea and then annexed it, in direct breach of signed treats, then armed and by all accounts manned the take over of eastern Ukraine can't be over looked by even the most Russian leaning of people. It won't be fast but much like the rest of Eastern Europe after the fall of the Iron Curtain Ukraine will eventually rise stronger economically as a more powerful country. It will also be armed with American and Western European weapons. A much stronger country than it would have been if it stayed under the Russian boot, which only benefited Russia. Russia will do all it can, or continue to do all it can, to destabilize Ukraine. But unless it plans on invading it, change is coming and it isn't the kind Russia wants. They like their neighbors weak, not strong and self-sufficient. It's a disaster for Russia of its own making. The Russians government should be more concerned about its own economy imploding and it people standing up to demand a better life as they see enjoyed in the west. Nationalism driven from suppression of the opposition and almost total control of the media, driven by fear of the West and outside interventions can only last so long.
