Is Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice The Person Who Unmasked Trump Administration Officials?

President Obama receives his daily briefing from Susan Rice, his national security advisor, on Aug. 12 in Chilmark, Mass. (White House Photo by Pete Souza via Flickr)

WNU Editor: Just a heads-up to everyone. A person that I trust emailed me last night that former National Security Adviser Susan Rice who served under President Obama is the person who unmasked incoming Trump administration officials. He provided no links, but I did a Google search and found a few conservative/alt-right sites pushing this story .... Susan Rice Requested Unmasking of Incoming Trump Administration Officials (Mike Cernovich, Medium). I am sceptical of this report .... there is a lot of disinformation circulating around and the entire Russia-Gate scandal has become intensely politicised. But apparently some people are starting to talk .... and Susan Rice was certainly in a position to not only review intel information that may have ensnared the Trump team, but she also had the authority to unmask those Americans who were on these intercepted calls and communications.

  2. Unrelated but this is a breaking story. Two IED's exploded in Russia. Metro targeted, multiple killed. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/03/saintpetersburg-bombing-casualties-explosion-metro-train/

  3. RUBEN

I had lunch with her last week. She is happy, relaxed, and pleased with the job she had prior to the recent election. All is well with her. Ok?

  4. "The chairman informed me that most of the names in the intercepted communications were in fact masked, but that he could still figure out the probable identity of the parties,” Mr. Schiff said. “Again, this does not indicate that there was any flaw in the procedures followed by the intelligence agencies. Moreover, the unmasking of a U.S. person’s name is fully appropriate when it is necessary to understand the context of collected foreign intelligence information.”

  5. The administration began loosening the unmasking rules in 2011. That makes me wonder if this was first used against Romney, and then to shape the Republican field through leaking and/or blackmail.
