CNN Anonymous Source: Former FBI Director Comey Now Believes President Trump Was Trying To Influence Him

CNN: First on CNN: Comey now believes Trump was trying to influence him, source says

Former FBI Director James Comey now believes that President Donald Trump was trying to influence his judgment about the Russia probe, a person familiar with his thinking says, but whether that influence amounts to obstruction of justice remains an open question.

"You have to have intent in order to obstruct justice in the criminal sense," the source said, adding that "intent is hard to prove."

Comey will testify publicly before the Senate intelligence committee after Memorial Day, the panel's leaders announced Friday.

The central question at that blockbuster hearing will be whether Comey believed the President was trying to interfere with his investigation.

Update: Comey to testify Trump tried to influence him: report (The Hill)

WNU Editor: The problem with the above CNN narrative is that they tried .... but failed in explaining this ....

Another problem with the media reports of the past week is that their narrative that former FBI Director asked for more resources is not being supported by others .... Rosenstein: No evidence Comey asked for more resources for Russia probe (The Hill).

The former FBI Director is going to be testifying in open hearings after Memorial Day. I have confidence that he will stand by his past sworn testimony .... as well as shedding more light on other questions that have been raised since his firing. Is he going to drop a bombshell not yet reported .... I do not know .... but I am certainly going to be making popcorn and watching his opening statement when he finally testifies. Men like him who have been fired in such a public fashion are usually "pissed-off" .... and they have the tendency to say and reveal the most interesting things.

  1. The funny part is the CNN today narrative is strongly different than the previous days: They was extremely affirmative about the influence of Trump on Comey, and now they think it would be just a "feeling". What a shame!

  2. It takes Comey a few months to figure out he was pressured?

Thank God for mankind that Comey was not born a woman!

Can you imagine the morning after regret months later and the charges and allegations to follow!?

  3. Scratch my last.

Comey could still wake up months later, feel regret and file a police report.

After all he could identify as female, male, fluid, a dog, a snake or something.

  4. Maybe if CNN destroys their first tape, they can convince the progs and libtards that Comey's new statement is fact.

  6. Comey is pretty fake.

Soon there will be caricatures of him for the next 200 years or more. He will be a character from central casting.

What I see is a little weasel that put up a front that he was Mr. Clean, when in reality he is a weak man. The whole Oval Office curtain fiasco was some funny crap.

The 'lil boy Comey is afraid of being in the Oval office with everyone else in Washington, but had nothing to say or do about the Clinton/ Lynch coffee klatch.

It pretty much makes it obvious what punk Comey is.
