DW: Trump, Israeli leaders pledge Middle East cooperation

US President Donald Trump has landed in Israel as part of his first foreign trip since taking office. Trump arrived fresh from inking a 12-figure arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

President Reuven Rivlin told his US counterpart, Donald Trump, that Israel was honored on Monday to welcome a partner in both business and peace.

"We created a miracle, a technological miracle, a human miracle, and, even during our most difficult times, we never gave up," Rivlin said, describing Israel's seven-decade expansion. However, he said, "we have not yet achieved our mission of living in peace with our neighbors: the Palestinians and the rest of the Arab world."

  1. WNU Editor,

Today's Wall Street Journal has an article reporting that Cuba has sent military advisers to Venezuela. The report states that, so far, the advisers' mission is (1) to spy on the Venezuelan brass, to discourage them from defecting from Maduro, and (2) to "buck up" the Venezuelan police and military, which are showing signs of weakening loyalty to the regime. The report did not say that Cuban forces have directly commenced operations against the demonstrators.

I thought that this story was interesting, and that you would also be interested if you have not already seen it.
