Consortium News: NYT Finally Retracts Russia-gate Canard
Exclusive: A founding Russia-gate myth is that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies agreed that Russia hacked into and distributed Democratic emails, a falsehood that The New York Times has belatedly retracted, reports Robert Parry.
The New York Times has finally admitted that one of the favorite Russia-gate canards – that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies concurred on the assessment of Russian hacking of Democratic emails – is false.
On Thursday, the Times appended a correction to a June 25 article that had repeated the false claim, which has been used by Democrats and the mainstream media for months to brush aside any doubts about the foundation of the Russia-gate scandal and portray President Trump as delusional for doubting what all 17 intelligence agencies supposedly knew to be true.

ReplyDeleteThat's what happens to the media which are driven by hate rules and not by professionals' one. (CNN too)
ReplyDeleteRight before he left office President Obama signed an order to allow the intelligence agencies to share info with each other. I thought the timing was odd. Was this a good idea or a way to sow confusion and make it harder to find a leaker?
ReplyDeleteAnd CNN remains quiet. All the BS, the lies, the innuendo, the working with people who pass on town hall questions (effectively manipulating elections) to Clinton. Silence.
ReplyDeleteLies? Sure. Prime time. Breaking news. Top news anchors.
Corrections? None. Or buried so deep on cnn.com only Google can find it.
Cnn.go away.
anon: cable news seldom if ever makes corrections unless a horrendous error of great magnitude. The NY Times made the correction as it usually does, and as most papers do: at the bottom of a story similar in nature. I assume you approve of Fox cable, so stay with that. As for the 17 agencies, only 4 to be specific. A minor 4 at that, 4 that are of little importance, right?
