Russia today claimed Britain's new aircraft carrier nicknamed Big Lizzie is a sitting target, denying Vladimir Putin's naval commanders are jealous of the huge vessel.
Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon had compared the £3.1 billion HMS Queen Elizabeth with Moscow's only 'dilapidated' aircraft carrier, claiming: 'I think the Russians will look at this ship with a little bit of envy.'
There were reports that Putin's agents would be collecting intelligence on the flagship as it undergoes sea trials.

ReplyDeleteIt was originally designed to launch Harriers but the Brits sold all theirs to the USMC a few years ago. Don't know if they'll ever actually take delivery of the F-35B, so right now its F-35 mockups and helicopters.

Why didn't they use some version of Unix?
All the big ships are giant targets, the Carrier is in the same position that the Battleship and the Horse Calvary was in the 1930's Subs and Fast Small Corvettes are the future and even they will take lots of casualties in a real war. I don't think or Brilliant Fearless So Called Leaders have a fucking clue how the world has changed, to busy stealing money and diddling children.

When I got to the port, I took a good long look at those corvettes carrying Russian Styx missiles.
They were on the north side of the harbor.
The Russians cannot run an economy under communism, but their design bureaus are not to be underestimated.
