Reuters: Trump says U.S. to quit Paris climate pact; allies voice dismay

President Donald Trump on Thursday said he will withdraw the United States from the landmark 2015 global agreement to fight climate change, spurning pleas from U.S. allies and corporate leaders in an action that fulfilled a major campaign pledge.

Supporters of the accord condemned Trump's move as an abdication of American leadership, an international disgrace and a monumental foreign policy blunder. His predecessor, Barack Obama, expressed regret over the pullout from a deal he was instrumental in brokering.

"We're getting out," Trump said at a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden in which he decried the Paris accord's "draconian" financial and economic burdens. He said American withdrawal "represents a reassertion of American sovereignty."

  1. I live in an area where you can see the effects if climate change, the erosion of the coastline, low lying Island disappear, but the pleasure I get hearing all those do-gooders heads exploding, can't wait till those self righteous pricks at the CBC start whining about this they will probably have the Lord of self righteous pricks David Asshat Suzuki on. If the want to stop climate change it's really simple Cull The Herd, 7.3 Billion people is way to many. I wonder how many tons of human poop are dropped every day, how many methane farts, not to mention all the other crap we do.7.3 billion people bloody ridiculous.

  2. Cull the herd by all means but cull the ones using all that CO2 based fuel to get the best impact. If they were to hold a worldwide conference no doubt using lots of fuel to get there, and got total agreement and commitment on the culling they would start killing off a billion of the people whose only carbon foot is that left by their poop.
