China Is Betting That President Trump Will Not Order A Military Strike On North Korea

Bloomberg: China Bets Trump Won't Resort to Strike Against North Korea

* U.S. general discusses military response after missile test
* China sees the collapse of Kim’s regime as a greater threat

China is betting that U.S. President Donald Trump won’t make good on his threats of a military strike against North Korea, with Beijing continuing to provide a lifeline to Kim Jong Un’s regime.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson singled out China and Russia as “economic enablers” of North Korea after Kim on Friday test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile for the second time in a matter of weeks. While Tillerson said the U.S. wants a peaceful resolution to the tensions, the top American general called his South Korean counterpart after the launch to discuss a potential military response.

China on Saturday condemned the latest test while calling for restraint from all parties, a muted reaction to Pyongyang’s progress on an ICBM capable of hitting the U.S. mainland. Despite Kim’s provocations, analysts said Beijing still sees the collapse of his regime as a more immediate strategic threat, and doubts Trump would pull the trigger given the risk of a war with North Korea that could kill millions.

  1. Well it looks like a lot of "State" people in Russia will have early vacation in the states.
As for the topic above: The recent parade really complicates matters for everyone, especially Xi.

  2. I think the problem really is the support of China. Will North Korea try to take back South Korea if they do get nuclear Missles? This war has always been free world vs communism. Can they exist side by side? Can diplomacy ensure an agreement to live peacefully side by side?
Might makes right and gains made will be exercised at some point. Can you see sitting down with North Korea after they are welcomed into the nuclear club?

    1. The NORK's won't go south.

Nukes are only a defensive weapon, you can't use them "offensively" with out destroying what you want to "take", and if the "other side" or their allies has nukes, then it's a mutual suicide pact.

The NORK's nukes and missiles have put the final nail in the US's Regime Change Project.

The NORK's will now use their nuclear umbrella to:
      - reduce their standing forces and save billions,
      - use the money and manpower to develop better economic juche
      - coerce a bigger "Sunshine Program" out of South Korea,

The US will yell impotently, increase sanctions, deploy more THAAD and Ageis Ships,

but they arn't going to war.

  4. The US has been threatening both the NORK's and Iran with direct military action since Bush 43's "Axis of Evil Speech",

( more proof 'Murkin's dont do Geography)

For those not keeping count, that's 15 years, one day shy of 6 months,

With out ever going past "bluster",

And for 10 of those years, the NORK's didn't have nukes or the ability to share the pain outside of the Korea's.

For the past 15 years almost 6 months, the US response to every NORK provication has been to yell threats loudly, make a token display of force, and add onto sanctions.

Funny that, no "pre-emptive"strikes even when the US was in a much better Tactial position.

Now the NORK's have nukes and missiles that can share the pain as far as the US Midwest and Central.

All the US is going to do is growl threateningly, raise sanctions until,

Some bright boy at RAND or the Pentagon write a paper pointing out that if the US doesn't want all those Deplorables and Gullibillies in the FlyOver states, cremated or irradiated, by accident or miscommunication, the US will have to engage in some "normalizing" of relations with the NORKs, just so that the NORK's dont think that some deployment or threatening bluster, is the US telegraphing a "first strike", and strike first.

Adolph Twitlers gonna be told the same thing every other US President since Ike has been told by the General's, there is no winning in Korea, just different levels of losing.

And Hair Furour loves him some Generals, they are the biggest, shiniest General's of any President, some of the are even yoouge!

Cheeto Benito's also gonna be reminded, they don't take orders via twitter.
